Quality Document Generator with a Linked APQP Chain
Eight document types. Four of them run as one APQP cascade.
Generate Control Plans, PFMEAs, Inspection Plans, Process Flows, 8D Reports, 5-Why Analyses, Fishbone Diagrams, and PPAP Checklists with AI. Run the Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, and Inspection Plan as one cascade, or generate a single document from the source documents you pick. Each document records what it was built from, the AI reads specs from drawings saved to your parts library, and 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone findings come back as proposed changes that an engineer applies.
How the chain works
Enter a characteristic once. Every draft down the chain is built with it in view.
The cascade drafts each document in order from the same drawing and characteristic list. Process steps carry forward from the process flow, the control plan characteristics seed the inspection plan, and each document records which document it was built from. An engineer checks that the special characteristic landed where it should.
Declared or assumed
When a Control Plan, PFMEA, or Inspection Plan relies on a process fact you have not given us, the draft uses a generic industry default and marks it assumed. Facts you gave us are marked declared, and rows built on an assumption carry a marker, with a filter for the rows that still need a look. You can confirm or correct a default in one click from the document, and the answer applies to every future document for your organization.

Capabilities
What Build does
APQP Document Cascade
Run the Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, and Inspection Plan as one cascade. The Process Flow sets the process steps for the PFMEA and Control Plan, and the Control Plan characteristics seed the Inspection Plan. Switch on source context and each finished document is also handed to the next draft. For a single document, select the source documents you want the AI to use.
Feedback PropagationCore
8D reports, 5-Why analyses, and Fishbone diagrams can propose updates to existing Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Inspection Plans, and 8D findings can also propose a Process Flow update. Choose the documents, review each proposed change row by row, and an engineer applies the approved change as a new revision.
Document Lineage TrackingCore
Each generated document shows the documents it was built from (upstream) and the documents that used it as a source (downstream), one link in each direction. When an approved 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone update is applied, the investigation is recorded as a source of the new revision.
AI Drawing Extraction
Upload an engineering drawing to the Parts Library and the AI extracts dimensions, tolerances, GD&T callouts, material, drawing notes, and referenced specifications. Pick that saved part when you generate, and the extracted data is given to the AI as context for the Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, and Inspection Plan.
Parts Library
Save parts with their engineering drawings, extracted features, and revision history. On the Build page, pick a saved part and its active revision fills in the part details and drawing data, so you can generate documents without re-uploading the drawing or re-entering specifications.
Stepwise AI Generation
Control Plans, PFMEAs, Fishbone diagrams, and 8D reports are built one step at a time: PFMEAs and Control Plans process step by process step, 8D reports discipline by discipline. A step tracker shows progress while the AI works, each finished step is saved, and if a step fails you keep the completed steps and can retry or edit.
8 Document Types
Control Plans, Process FMEA, Inspection Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, 8D Reports, 5-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, and PPAP Checklists. Control Plans carry the AIAG control plan columns, PFMEAs use severity, occurrence, and detection ratings with an RPN, and 8D reports run D0 through D8.
PDF, DOCX & XLSX Export
Export any document to PDF, DOCX, or XLSX, with headings, bold text, lists, and tables carried through from the generated text.
'CMM: all green. Reality: failed.' The binder comes back when a balloon has no Form 3 result behind it, or Form 1 is signed before the data is in.
AS9102 packages fail on the chain, not the parts: a ballooned characteristic nobody measured, a Form 3 row that does not trace to the print, a Form 1 signed before Forms 2 and 3 were complete. QualityEngineer.ai numbers each linked Form 3 row by its balloon, carries the part revision on the form header, and produces Forms 1, 2 and 3 from the same inspection record. When the drawing changes, an engineering change can scope a delta FAI to only the affected characteristics. Results and sign-offs stay with your inspector.
Who does what
Document creation: the software prepares, an engineer decides.
Prepared by the software
- Generates the APQP chain in order, Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, Inspection Plan, carrying process steps forward and, when source context is switched on, feeding each finished document into the next draft
- Reads dimensions, tolerances, material, and referenced specifications from a drawing saved to a part, and gives them to the AI as context when it drafts the Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, and Inspection Plan
- Drafts proposed updates from 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone findings to the Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Inspection Plans you choose, for review row by row before an engineer applies them
- Generates Control Plans, PFMEAs, 8D reports, and Fishbone diagrams in steps, showing step progress while the AI works and saving each completed step
- Records which documents each generated document was built from and which documents were built from it
- Marks each process fact a Control Plan, PFMEA, or Inspection Plan relies on as declared by you or assumed from a generic default
- Suggests PFMEA failure modes, causes, and detection methods from the source Process Flow, the drawing data, and the known failure modes you enter
Decided by an engineer
- Approves or rejects each document change the software proposes from a corrective action or an engineering change, before it is applied
- Approves, rejects, or waives each PPAP element, and approves or rejects the submission
- Approves NCR dispositions and signs off each corrective action
- Signs control plans, PFMEAs, and other title-block documents by role, and enters the authorized signature on the warrant
Signed in the app: typed signature, name, date
Workflow
How it works
- 01Upload a drawing or select a saved part
- 02Choose document type and source documents
- 03AI drafts the document
- 04Review assumed facts and lineage
- 05Export to PDF, DOCX, or XLSX
Use cases
Built for connected quality document creation
- APQP teams building the full document cascade, Process Flow to PFMEA to Control Plan to Inspection Plan, with the option to feed each finished document into the next as source context
- Quality engineers generating Control Plans with existing PFMEAs and Process Flows supplied as source context
- Manufacturing engineers analyzing drawings in the parts library so the extracted characteristics, notes, and specs feed each document they generate
- Corrective action teams turning 8D and 5-Why findings into proposed Control Plan and PFMEA updates that an engineer reviews and applies
